On 13 January, RPL players participated in the group stage matches of Asian Cup in Qatar and Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
2023 AFC Asian Cup
Group B
Uzbekistan 0-0 Syria
Rubin Kazan defender Rustam Ashurmatov made the starting 11 of Uzbekistan and played full match, while CSKA Moscow midfielder Abbos Fayzullaev entered the field after half-time replacing Khozhimat Erkinov, belonged to Torpedo Moscow. Syria had CSKA youth teams’ goalkeeper Maksim Sarraf on the bench.
After first round of the group stage Australia captured the lead in the group beating India 2-0. The stage will resume on 18 January with Uzbekistan vs India and Syria vs Australia fixtures.
2023 Africa Cup of Nations
Group A
Cote d’Ivoire 2-0 Guinea-Bissau
Pari NN striker Ze Turbo played final 15 minutes of tournament opening game, where his Guinea-Bissau lost to Cup hosts. The Ivoirians scored a goal in both halves. Guinea-Bissau will play next match against Equatorial Guinea on 18 January.

Olympic U-23 teams
Uruguay 4-1 Paraguay
Dynamo Moscow defender Nicolas Marichal spent all 90 minutes on the pitch in the match. The Uruguayans, coached by Marcelo Bielsa, continue preparations for South American Olympic Qualifications, which will be held in Venezuela. La Celeste will face same Paraguayan team in the first match of the group stage on 24 January.

At Asian Cup it’s first matchday for Iran with Rostov midfielder Mohammad Mohebi, they will face Palestina. At Africa Cup of Nations group stage will start for Cape Verde with Kevin Lenini from Krasnodar, their opponents are Ghana.
