Iran & Mohebi beat Palestina, Cape Verde & Lenini upset Ghana

On 14 January, RPL players participated in the group stage matches of Asian Cup in Qatar and Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

Iran 4-1 Palestina

Rostov midfielder Mohammad Mohebi at first Asian Cup match in international career played 45 minutes, as he came from the bench after half-time. The Iranians scored three goals in the first half, and the fourth came from ex-RPL scorer Sardar Azmoun on 55th minute. Iran went top of the group, and they are chased by UAE, who beat Hong Kong 3-1. Team Melli will face Hong Kong in the next match on 19 January.

Ghana 1-2 Cape Verde

Krasnodar midfielder Kevin Lenini made debut at Africa Cup playing full match against Ghana. The Cape Verdean scored first on 18th minute, conceded on 56th, but got the winning goal in the added time. Cape Verde became group leaders, as other participants Egypt and Mozambique were drawn 2-2. On 19 January, Cape Verde will play against Mozambique in second round of group stage.

Whom to follow on 15 January

At Africa Cup of Nations last edition bronze medalists Cameroon will start with Dynamo Moscow forward Nicolas Moumi Ngamaleu. Their first challenge is fixture against Guinea.
