Uruguay and Marichal miss win in first Pre-Olympic Tournament match

On 24 January, two national teams with RPL players had matches at Africa Cup of Nations in Cote-d’Ivoire and CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament in Venezuela.

Tanzania 0-0 DR Congo

Spartak midfielder Theo Bongonda spent full match as reserve, while DR Congo earned third draw in three group matches, and it was enough to clinch playoffs as group runner-up. In the Round of 16 match DR Congo will face Egypt, coached by former Spartak manager Rui Vitoria, on 28 January.

CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament

Paraguay U-23 4-3 Uruguay U-23

Dynamo defender Nicolas Marichal played 90 minutes in first Uruguay match at the tournament, and Marcelo Bielsa side suffered defeat, despite they had 2-0 and 3-1 lead during first half. On 27 January, La Celeste will continue the competition facing Chile.

Next international matches, which might have RPL players, will be held on 26 January, these also will be fixture from Olympic Qualification in Venezuela. Ecuador alongside Orenburg forward Justin Cuero will face Bolivia, later Brazil alongside CSKA defender Khellven and Lokomotiv defender Lucas Fasson will play against Colombia.
