print version

Sergey Yuran and FC Khimki have today parted ways.

Under his leadership, the Red-Blacks achieved promotion and matched the best Russian Cup performance in the club's history by reaching the final, where they lost 1-0 to Zenit St. Petersburg last weekend.

In an official statement, FC Khimki thanked Yuran for his work. “The decision to part with Sergey Yuran was made on 31 July, after which an order was immediately signed for his dismissal. At the moment it remains to settle the necessary formalities,” said managing director Aleksandr Zaytsev.

Yuran’s managerial career began 17 years ago, and has taken in posts in Armenia, Kazakhstan, Estonia, Azerbaijan and Latvia. He had previously managed FC Khimki and Shinnik Yraoslavl in the Russian top flight.

FC Khimki kick off the new Russian Premier Liga season at home to CSKA Moscow on Saturday 8 August.
