Lokomotiv Moscow have confirmed that midfielder Dmitry Barinov, who was seriously injured in the matchday four 2-1 derby defeat against Spartak, has been diagnosed with a cruciate ligament tear and will undergo surgery.
Barinov has missed 10 RPL matches through injury or suspension out of the last 43; he has played every minute of the remaining 33.
Aleksey Miranchuk, who was also injured against Spartak, and Dmitry Zhivoglyadov, who was injured in training on the eve of the game, will return to the squad during the international break.
Miranchuk has scored two goals and assisted one more in four RPL games this season, having finished last campaign as the club’s top goalscorer with a personal-best tally of 12 goals. Zhivoglyadov has registered two assists in three RPL games this season.
