Kirill Novikov leaves Dynamo Moscow

Dynamo Moscow have accepted Kirill Novikov’s resignation following the 1-0 defeat to FC Khimki on matchday nine. The former youth team coach leaves the Moscow club after just under a year in charge of the senior team, having presided over 28 RPL fixtures, winning 13, drawing six and losing nine.

Novikov made his debut for Dynamo as a player in June 2000 after developing through the youth system, before spending three years at Istra. Injury forced him to prematurely hang up his boots, and in 2007 he joined the coaching staff at Dynamo’s academy.

Dynamo-II head coach Aleksandr Kulchiy, also a former player at the club, will take over as interim head coach of the first team. The Belarusian spent two years as Belarus national team assistant manager under current Rotor Volgograd head coach Aleksandr Khatskevich among others, before joining Dynamo’s youth team coaching staff in 2016.
