Spartak Moscow completed the move of the midfielder Quincy Promes from Ajax Amsterdam and signed the team best foreign scorer in the Russian Championships on three-and-half-year agreement.
For the first time, the Dutch joined Spartak in 2014 from Twente. He ended his first RPL campaign with 13 goals, but next season he made his career best with scoring 18 goals. In the 2016/17 campaign Promes became RPL champion under Massimo Carrera, while next season he won the Russian Super Cup and became league top scorer with 15 goals.
Promes left Spartak in August 2018 for Sevilla, and after spending one season in La Liga he joined Ajax. In the 2019/20 Eredivisie he scored 12 goals in 20 matches, and this campaign he made six goals after 19 appearances.
