Konate had been playing for Khimki since September 2019, when the team was competing in FNL. He reached a promotion with the Red-Blacks and in the past season scored three goals in 26 matches to bring Khimki on the eighth place in RPL.

Akhmat became the forth Russian team for the 23-year-old player. Before playing for Khimki Konate was also a part of Ural Ekaterinburg in 2016 and FC Tambov in 2019.
