Yuri Alberto has signed for champions Zenit St. Petersburg from Internacional. The 20-year-old forward has signed a five-year deal with the club.
Alberto joined the Santos Academy at the age of 13, before breaking youth scoring records as a 15-year-old at the Zico Cup (nine goals in six matches) and the Sao Paulo Under-15 Championship (32 goals in 26 matches), the latter breaking the previous record.
In March 2018, Alberto scored his first goal for Santos’ senior side, against Novurizontino in a Sao Paulo championship match, going on to play 16 games for the club before joining Internacional two years later. At the end of the 2021 season, he was joint-third in the Brazilian championship scorers’ list with 12 goals. Overall, he scored 30 goals and made five assists in 85 matches for Internacional.
