Kurban Berdyev leaves Sochi, Dmitry Khokhlov to become caretaker coach

FC Sochi officially parted ways with head coach Kurban Berdyev.

70-year-old coach was hired on 25 December, he replaced Aleksandr Tochilin as head of coaching staff. Team earned two wins and three defeats in five matches since RPL resumed.

Dmitry Khokhlov, joined coaching staff on 9 January, will become interim head coach. In RPL 47-year-old worked as head coach in Dynamo Moscow (interim in 2012 and full-time since 2017 to 2019) and Kuban Krasnodar (2015). He spent 70 matches in the league in this role getting 16 wins, 29 draws and 25 defeats. Khokhlov also coached Dynamo Moscow youth team, Dynamo-2 and Rotor Volgograd.

Sochi go ninth in the standings with 31 points. In the next RPL match team will host Krasnodar at Fisht Central Stadium on Saturday 15 April.
