Ural Ekateinburg made a statement on suspension of Oleg Shatov contract due to player’s injury and his plans to begin study to be coach.
“Oleg Shatov will study to be a coach. Due to it our midfielder suspended contract with Ural. As his chronical injury does not allow him to come back on the pitch, he decided to spend free time for education. We wish Oleg success in the studying and further career, whatever it will be playing or coaching role”, said in the statement.
33-year-old Shatov played last official match in Russian Cup on 26 November 2022 against Torpedo. First time player suspended his career in November 2021, as he left Rubin Kazan as free agent. Oleg made comeback in February 2022 signing with Ural.
Shatov is three-time RPL champion, two-time Russian Cup and Super Cup winner, all these trophies he won with Zenit St. Petersburg. In RPL Shatov played for Anzhi, Zenit, Krasnodar, Rubin and Ural; he scored 29 goals in 218 matches.
