Dmitry Alenichev Appointed as Spartak Head Coach

Spartak Board of Directors decision has been made to appoint Dmitry Alenichev as the new Head Coach of the Red-Whites. Before Dmitry Alenichev was coaching Arsenal Tula.

The most titled player of Russia Dmitry Alenichev started his playing career in Velikie Luki, and moved to Spartak in 1994. During his first period in Spartak Alenichev won the Championship four times and became the Cup of Russia holder twice.

Since 1998 Alenichev continued his career in Europe. In Italy he played for Roma and Perugia, and then spent four seasons in Portuguese Porto. There he played under the guidance of Jose Mourinho and won UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup.

In 2004 Alenichev returned to Spartak again, and finished his career there in 2006.  In total he played 193 matches for Spartak and scored 31 goal.

The coaching career of Dmitry Alenichev was started in 2010, when he became the senior coach of youth national team of Russia. One year later he moved to Arsenal Tula, which was playing in lower division then. With Arsenal this 42-year old specialist went along the whole way from the bottom and brought the team to the Russian Football Premier League.
