CSKA lose to Viktoria and lose chances to qualify to play-off

In UEFA Champions League group stage MD 5 match PFC CSKA hosted Viktoria from Czech Republic in Luzhniki. The game ended with defeat of the Russian club – 1:2.

The home team managed to take the lead in the first half. The first goal was scored by Nikola Vlasic who performed the kick from 11-meter mark. It was his third goal in this tournament. The home team could equalize at the very end of the half, but Igor Akinfeev saved the penalty by Roman Prochazka.

However, during the second half of the game Viktoria first evened the score and then took the lead. The goals were scored by Prochazka and Lukas Hejda.

After this defeat CSKA moved down to the fourth place in the table and lost any chances to qualify to the play-off. Both Russian club and Viktoria have 4 points each. The Army team needs to perform better than their opponents in the last MD in order to move ahead of the club from Czech Republic.

On the last MD CSKA is going to play against Real away, and Viktoria is going to play against Roma at home. Both matches will take place on 12 December.
