Timur Zhamaletdinov joins Ural Ekaterinburg training camp

print version

CSKA Moscow’s forward Timur Zhamaletdinov has flown out to Cyprus with Ural Ekaterinburg for their first training camp, which will run until 27 January and include two practise matches. The 22-year-old spent the first part of the season on loan with Lech in Poland.

Also joining him on a trial basis is Bulgarian club Dunav’s Russian midfielder Ivan Selemenev. Roman Emelyanov, who hasn’t made a competitive appearance since 6 October, will engage in an individual training program to aid his recovery from injury.

Ural will return to Paphos to take part in the FNL Cup in February. They are the only side to have won the winter tournament more than once, emerging victorious in the first two editions in 2012 and 2013, and then in 2018.

Included in the full 26-man training squad are three youth players, all of whom have spent time in Russian Premier League matchday squads for the senior team: Aleksandr Golubtsev, Aleksey Mamin and Aleksandr Shcherbakov. Only the latter has made a first-team appearance, and he has also spent time on loan in Armenia and Cyprus.
