Ural Ekaterinburg played out their second 1-1 draw in a row against Serbians Cukaricki on Tuesday. Andrey Egorychev gave FC Ural the lead after 20 minutes, only for Dmitriy Parfenov’s side to be pegged back before half time.
FC Ural had the upper hand in the opening exchanges. Cukaricki’s only real opportunity was a scrappy physical battle in the six-yard box that Nikolay Zolotov struggled to deal with.
Egorychev almost scored and set up a goal before his strike broke the deadlock. His free header was clawed out by a sublime save from Cukaricki’s goalkeeper before he drifted in a loopy cross that Pavel Pogrebnyak nodded wide.
From a corner moments later, Erik Bicfalvi held off two defenders to touch the ball back to a lurking Egorychev. His first-time shot found its way through the crowd of players into the bottom corner.
After failing to produce an end product in the final third from a few attacks Cukaricki struck through Ibrahima Ndiaye. The Senegalese forward latched onto a simple through ball to finish confidently across Oleg Baklov from the edge of the penalty area.
Baklov’s reflex reactions tipped a close-range header over the bar amidst a flurry of Cukaricki half-chances after the break. Despite this pressure, Andrey Panyukov came close to regaining the lead.
Through on goal, he was brought down right on the edge of the box. A free kick was given, which Bicfalvi curled round the wall only to see it palmed away at full stretch.
