CSKA Moscow took on Spanish side Orihuela and Danish Superliga club Nordsjælland on Wednesday, winning both games 2-0. They have scored twice in all five friendlies so far this winter, winning four of them.

In the first match against Orihuela David Karaev continued to impress on trial by opening the scoring. New signing Ilya Shkurin also opened his account for the Armymen.

A relatively young side was fielded, including 16-year-old goalkeeper Vladislav Torop, 18-year-old Maksim Eleev and 19-year-old Konstantin Maradishvili, complemented by the experience of Georgi Shchennikov, Kirill Nababkin and Alan Dzagoev.

Karaev shone from the start with the only two shots on target in the first half and teeing up Dzagoev for a chance, before breaking the deadlock on the stroke of half time. With 12 minutes remaining Shkurin sealed the comfortable win.

In the second victory of the day there was a far more experienced lineup on show. Nikola Vlasic scored again - his fourth of this winter already - in the first half before Ilzat Akhmetov added a second shortly after the break.

After 14 minutes a Nordsjælland attack broke down as a ball was swept out wide to Arnor Sigurdsson in space. The Icelandic midfielder picked out Vlasic who side-footed home from 15 yards out.

Vlasic turned provider after a compacted build-up phase on the left flank. He spotted Akhmetov lurking on the edge of the box from where the latter swung a firm left-footed shot past the keeper.

FC Chertanovo winger Kirill Kolesnichenko has joined the training camp out in Spain on trial, although he was not included in either squad on Wednesday. CSKA next face Odds BK on Saturday 8 February before closing their second training camp against Zenit St. Petersburg on Sunday 9 February.
