Former Amkar Perm and Yenisey Krasnoyarsk forward Darko Bodul had a direct hand in all three goals as his Belarusian club Shakhter Saligorsk beat Arsenal Tula 3-2 on Wednesday. Early on Igor Cherevchenko's side also lost 2-0 to Romanians UTA Arad.

UTA Arad scored twice in the first half, and never relinquished their advantage. They even had two chances to score before they broke the deadlock.

After 18 minutes, Valentin Buhacianu gave Levashov no chance from a yard out. Ten minutes later Sorin Bustea's tidy finish found the corner to extend the Romanians' lead.

Roman Minaev sent a volley just wide before half time, while Lameck Banda missed a chance late in the second half. In the second half Vladislav Panteleev struck the woodwork, while UTA Arad also hit the bar just four minutes after the restart.

In the second half both Georgi Kostadinov and Victor Alvarez were denied by former FC Orenburg and FC Tosno goalkeeper Aleksandr Gutor.
