Goal: Dynamo - Toni Sunjic (40)

Man of the Match: Toni Sunjic (Dynamo)

Zenit St. Petersburg’s 23-match unbeaten league run came to a shock end as both sides ended with 10 men on the pitch. With half time approaching Toni Sunjic powered a thumping header past Mikhail Kerzhakov to give Dynamo Moscow a shock lead over Zenit St. Petersburg.

Dmitry Skopintsev was sent off with 15 minutes to go, leading to intense pressure from Zenit. Less than 10 minutes later though, Wilmar Barrios was also shown a red card. Zenit completely dominated the closing stages, but found Anton Shunin in inspired form in Dynamo’s goal.

Dynamo jump up to 10 points, just two behind Zenit on 12.

Dynamo Moscow travel to take on FC Ufa next up on Sunday 30 August, while Zenit St. Petersburg face last year’s runners up away on the same day.
