The draw of the 2020/21 Russian Cup elite group round took place in Moscow on 4 September.
Each group consist of one team from Russian Premier Liga, Football National League and Professional Football League.
Group 1: Ural Ekaterinburg, Veles Moscow, Volga Ulyanovsk
Group 2: Spartak Moscow, Enisey Krasnoyarsk, Rodina Moscow
Group 3: Arsenal Tula Tekstilschik Ivanovo, Salyut Belgorod
Group 4: FC Ufa, FC Chertanovo, FC Leningradets
Group 5: FC Khimki, FC Nizhniy Novgorod, Zenit Irkutsk
Group 6: Akhmat Grozny, Shinnik Yaroslavl, Znamya Noginsk
Group 7: Rotor Volgograd, Krylia Sovetov Samara, Dynamo Stavropol
Group 8: FC Sochi, FC Orenburg, Zvezda Perm
Group 9: Rubin Kazan, SKA Khabarovsk, Chernomorets Novorossiysk
Group 10: FC Tambov, Dynamo Bryansk, Mashuk KMV Pyatigorsk
The dates of matchdays will be confirmed later. In the elite round each team will play one game against the others from the group. RPL teams will be visitors in both games, FNL teams will play one home game and one away, while PFL teams will host both matches. If the match ends draw after 90 minutes, the winner will be decided in the penalty shoot-out.
In 2020/21 season the elite group round will replace two knock-out stages - Round of 64 and Round of 32. Ten group winners will qualify to the Round of 16, where they will join six teams, which represent Russia in Champions League and Europa League. The play-off stage will start on February 2021.
The current Russian Cup holder is RPL champion Zenit St. Petersburg.
