Sergey Tkachev struck twice as Arsenal sprang a real shock to end the RPL’s last remaining unbeaten run. Sochi had taken the lead through Christian Noboa’s sixth goal of the season from the penalty spot before Tkachev equalised, while Evans Kangwa put the hosts in front on the stroke of half time. MIha Mevlja drew Sochi level shortly before an emphatic winner from Tkachev.

Arsenal jump out of the relegation zone into 12th on eight points as Sochi drop to third on 15 points. Arsenal host Rostov next on Sunday 27 September, while Sochi welcome FC Krasnodar the day before.
