RPL players on international duty: Uremovic’s second cap for Croatia, Krychowiak’s Poland defeat Finland

On 7 October, five foreign Russian Premier Liga players took part in friendly matches for their national teams.

Switzerland 1-2 Croatia

Rubin defender Filip Uremovic participated in his second game for the Croatian national team, playing 62 minutes and was substituted at 1-1. Zenit defender Dejan Lovren and CSKA midfielder Nikola Vlasic were also in the visitors’ matchday squad, but neither appeared on the pitch. In the next match, which will be held on 11 October, the Croats will play at home in the Nations League against Sweden.

Cyprus 1-2 Czech Republic

Spartak midfielder Aleks Kral played 30 minutes for the Czech national team. The player came on as a substitute in the 61st minute with the score 2-1 in favor of the Czechs, but neither the player nor the team scored more. The Czechs will next face Israel in the Nations League on 11 October.

Luxembourg 1-2 Liechtenstein

Ufa’s Olivier Thill played his 25th match for the Luxembourg national team. The player started the fixture with Liechtenstein in the starting line-up, but was replaced at half-time with his team losing 1-0. In the second half, the teams exchanged goals, and the match ended with a 2-1 victory for the visitors. Luxembourg will play their next game in the Nations League on 10 October against Cyprus.

Italy 6-0 Moldova

Ufa midfielder Catalin Carp played his 31st game for the Moldovan national team. Against Italy, Carp was named in the starting lineup, receiving a yellow card in the third minute, and was replaced in the 28th by Aleksandr Epureanu, who previously played in the RPL. On 11 October, Moldova will play away against Greece in the Nations League.

Poland 5-1 Finland

In the 61st minute of Poland’s game against Finland, Railroader Grzegorz Krychowiak came off the bench. By that time, his team were already winning 4-0. Also in the Polish squad was the best assistant of the current RPL season, Dynamo’s Sebastian Szymanski, but he remained on the bench. Poland’s next opponents will be Italy in the Nations League on 11 October in Gdansk.
