About the new restrictions in Moscow

print version

The Russian Premier Liga’s press service has commented on holding RPL matches with additional restrictive measures.

Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced additional restrictions that are being introduced in the city due to the spread of the coronavirus infection. In particular, staging large-scale sporting events involving spectators is only permitted subject to agreement with the Department of Sport and the city of Moscow’s health service.

The decision of the mayor's office does not specify about reducing the quota of spectators at Moscow RPL matches (currently 50% of the total capacity, taking into account social distancing), but the authorities will be able to make adjustments in the case of a deterioration of the epidemiological situation.

Approval will take place before each round. The results in particular will depend on how preventive measures are observed at the stadiums.

The Moscow Department of Sports will notify the league and clubs about the procedures and terms of approval.
