WIlmar Barrios couldn’t help his Colombia teammates past a battling Venezuela in their second Copa America fixture, as Porto Defender Luis Diaz was sent off deep into added time.
The best chance of the game came just after half time when Matias Uribe controlled a short cross on his chest with back to goal and unleashed an overhead scissor kick, only for Wuilker Farinez to tip acrobatically over.
Zenit midfielder Barrios played 90 minutes for Colombia; in fact, he hasn’t missed a minute of their two fixtures so far, having played the full match for Colombia’s 1-0 win over Ecuador too.
After two rounds, Colombia are second in the group with four points. Venezuela are third on one point, with hosts Brazil top with six points.

The Copa America takes place in Brazil from 14 June to 10 July. Ten teams participate in the tournament, divided into two groups of five at the group stage. The first four sides in each progress to the quarter-finals.
