Rubin beat Khimki 1-0 in the opening match of the Parimatch Premier Cup.
In the 88th minute, Khimki midfielder Javi Babika converted a one-on-one, but the goal was not counted due to offside. The only goal was scored by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the 90th minute.
The man of the match according to the Match Premier experts was Khvich Kvaratskhelia.
In the second round, both teams will play on 14 July, as Khimki meet Sochi, and Rubin take on Spartak.
