After a convincing victory in Ekaterinburg last week, Krasnodar’s high ambitions were given a setback by Khimki. The Bulls had a golden chance to get in the driver’s seat when they were awarded a penalty early on, but Khimki goalkeeper Ilya Lantratov made a great save from Viktor Claesson’s spot kick. 

In the second half new signing Besard Sabovic set up tricky midfielder Ilya Kukharchuk, who gave the away side the lead. Big money man Jhon Cordoba was brought on by Viktor Goncharenko, but it wasn’t enough to get them back in the game.
