print version

Dynamo Moscow 1-2 Nizhny Novgorod
Sunday 12 September, VTB Arena

Goals: Dynamo - Makarov 13'; Nizhny Novgorod - Gorbunov 75', Kalinsky 83'
Sent off: Nizhny Novgorod - Masoero 88'
Man of the Match: Arthur Nigmatullin (Nizhny Novgorod)

Arthur Nigmatullin was the hero for Nizhny Novgorod as he palmed away Clinton N'Jie's 89th-minute penalty to help close out a remarkable comeback win for the 10-man visitors.

Denis Makarov had slotted a calm opener after quarter of an hour, and the opening hour or so proceeded accordingly.

Then in the last 17 minutes the game exploded. First, Igor Gorbunov turned in a low cross to equalise, before Nikolay Kalinsky finished off a lightning quick break instigated by Richlord Ennin's brilliant break and pass.

With time running out, Lucas Masoero was sent off as a VAR review confirmed a penalty decision. Nigmatullin was equal to N'Jie's effort, and Nizhny Novgorod held on for a famous three points.

Dynamo stay fourth on 13 points, while Nizhny Novgorod leap up to sixth on 11 points.
