Mantuan saves Zenit from dropping points against Khimki

Khimki were the first side to steal points from Zenit in season-opener, and they were close to this robbery again. Malcom pushed the title defenders forward with second straight brace through counter attacks, so he tied again with Quincy Promes on 16 goals in the top scorers race. As Zenit became quieter, Khimki chasing led them to goals. Butta Magomedov first attempt was cancelled through offside, then the Red-Blacks captain scored between the legs of Mikhail Kerzhakov, and ten minutes later he equalized converting the penalty. Zenit got their jokers in Arsen Adamov and Gustavo Mantuan, the Brazilian scored a header in injury time to take the win back. Mantuan has four goals this season, all were got after entering the field as substitute.

Zenit stay top of the standings with 48 points, while Khimki still 15th on 13 points.
