The only remained team from the First League added the collection of beaten Moscow teams, Torpedo and Lokomotiv were joined by last season finalists Dynamo. Despite big advantage on goal attempts, the White-Blues could not beat Sergey Volkov. Akron goalkeeper stopped nine shots on target, most of the came from Konstantin Tyukavin, most heated Dynamo player this spring.

Next decisive save Volkov made in the penalty shootout saving the ball from Daniil Fomin, Dynamo captain missed second attempt in three days, previously he could not beat Denis Adamov from Sochi. Only Arsen Zakharyan was successful from White-Blues in the shootout, while Akron scored all four attempts, three of them were taken from by RPL players. Konstantin Savichev played for SKA Khabarovsk, Anzhi and Enisey; Maksim Palienko made two appearances for Zenit and earned promotion with Tosno; Aleks Matsukatov came from Krasnodar on loan.

Akron advanced to second semi-finals stage and will host another RPL team, the options are Spartak Moscow or eliminated side from Krylia Sovetov vs CSKA.
