print version

The first new arrival of FC Krasnodar in the period of summer pre-season is 30-year old midfield Vladimir Bystrov, the rights for which have belonged to Zenit till recent time.

Vladimir Bystrov was born on 31 January 1984 in Luga town of Leningrad Region. There he went to school No6, where he went  in for football, tennis, volleyball, ice-hockey and basketball, being the fastest pupil, as his physical culture teacher Vladimir Martsynkevich said. Bystrov played for the grown up amateur teams since his childhood.

His father Sergey was a big fan of sport No1 and an ex-player of FC Spartak Luga, which does not exist anymore. He was dreaming about his son to become a football player. When Vladimir was 13, his father took him to Smena school of St.Petersburg. Originally, none of the school administration liked him much, but his father made a deal with coach Vasily Kastrovskiy that he would be bringing the boy for the training sessions himself, and the sportschool agreed to take him in their team. Step by step Bystrov moved to the leading positions in the youth team and in 1999 they became Russian Champions of this age.

In 2001 Bystrov came to Zenit and on 8 May of the following year he made his first show in the match of the Russian Championship against  Torpedo-ZIL, where the team from St.Petersburg celebrated their winning 2:1. Bystrov entered the pitch in this game after a substitution in the 70th minute and was very active: he was the reason for the foul, when Torpedo-ZIL captain Sergey Shustikov got his second yellow card in this match and was sent off. In the next game on 12 May, in the Cup of Russia final 2001\02 against CSKA Vladimir Bystrov for the first time entered the pitch in the starting squad of Zenit.

That season in the squad of blue – white – light-blue team Bystrov played 11 matches and in 2003 he entered the pitch more and more often and on 8 August he scored his first goal for Zenit, in the 88th minute against Torpedo Moscow in the away match and brought winning to St.Petersburg team 2:1.

In March 2004 Vladimir played for the National Team of Russia for the first time against Bulgaria. At EURO 2004 tournament he was the youngest player in the team – he was 20 years and 3 months at that time. He took part in the match against Portugal, having entered the pitch after substitution in the 71st minute.

In summer 2005 Bystrov, being a main squad player in Zenit, suddenly moved to the main and most principal opponent of St.Petersburg team – Spartak Moscow. There he became the main squad player quite soon, he was still invited to the National Team and at EURO 2008 he helped Russia to win bronze medals, taking part in two matches – against Spain and against Sweden.

After 4 years of playing in the red-and-white team in summer 2009 the player returned to St.Petersburg and played for Zenit till the end of 2013. Among other trophies, which Bystrov got with Zenith, there are golden medals of Russian Championship of 2010 and 2011\2012, silver medals – 2003 and 2012\2013, bronze – 2009, Cup of Russia 2009\2010, Super Cup of Russia 2011, Premier League Cup – 2003. With Spartak Bystrov became Runner-up of the Russian Championship – in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Among individual achievements and merits of Vladimir – 6 times in the list of 33 best players of Russia, Strelets nomination (Discovery of the season) in 2003 and title of the best young player of Russia in the same year  - 2003 – (The First Five Award).

In spring 2014 Bystrov moved to Anji on a loan, but he was not able to help to the team from Makhachkala to keep their place in the Premier League, after that he returned to the city on the Neva river.

Now the contract of Vladimir Bystrov with Zenit is about to expire and the midfield moved to Krasnodar as a free agent. Bystrov passed medical examination and signed his personal contract with Krasnodar for the period of 3 years. Bystrov will join his new team on 17 June and several days later will depart with the black-and-green team to their first training camp of this summer in Austria.
