"Come on!" Artem Dzyuba worked a shift on tram route №3

print version

On 11 April the blue-white-sky blue striker fulfilled his promise to the Come on! Charity project. Together we managed to collect more than a million rubles required for the treatment of Alyosha Krinitsky and so Artem went to work as a conductor.

At the beginning of the day Artem Dzyuba arrived at Repina square, the location of the tram route №3's station terminal. Half an hour before starting his shift Artem met with Alyosha, who wanted to show his support for the Zenit player and Artem gave him a signed Zenit shirt.

Artem then went on to take instructions from the present conductor of the tram, received his uniform and identity card and at about three o'clock in the afternoon began his journey. The tram route took him to Sennaya metro station and circling west around the city centre before heading back to Repin Square, a one-way journey taking about 40 minutes.

During this tram journey Artem managed to serve and met dozens passengers, many of them had learned who the conductor was and made a special effort to catch his tram. Artem gave out a number of autographs, signing many items (including some banknotes, which the commuters had planned to pay their fare with), and made a series of tram selfie photos.

After completing the route Artem again met with Alyosha, wishing him a speedy recovery and invited him to a match at the Peterovsky. "It was not like anything I've done before! I had to learn as I went, and I had an excellent conductor Vladimir with me, he had a great sense of humour," shared Artem. "At first it was strange, a lot of people were on board and I really needed to try to remember all those who in the carriage who had paid. But everything went well in general.  It looks like there was only one fare dodger who I did not have time to catch, but that naughty boy only skipped one stop and I didn't have any more to catch!"

A video report from tram №3 will air on Zenith TV later today. The charity project  "Come on!" is a joint initiative of Zenit and Rusfond and launched in January 2015. In addition to Dzyuba's efforts, we have already seen Hulk dance on Nevsky Prospekt, Danny working as a hairdresser and Yuri Lodygin becoming a tour guide at the Hermitage.

Zenit football wishes to thank SPB Gorelectrotrans (City transport) for facilitating the temporary employment and Artem Dzyuba and apologizes to passengers route №3 for any inconvenience caused.
