Lokomotiv replace Marko Nikolic as head coach with Dmitry Loskov in interim role

print version

Marko Nikolic has been relieved of his duties as Lokomotiv head coach in the wake of Sunday's 2-1 home defeat to Rostov. Club legend Dmitry Loskov has been appointed in his place as an interim measure.

Nikolic had guided Lokomotiv to an unbeaten season before the Rostov defeat, but had missed out on Champions League football in his first season. This May he lifted the Russian Cup with the Railroaders.

Loskov has been assistant manager since 2016, helping Yuri Semin, Nikolic and Oleg Pashinin preside over more than 200 matches. As a player with the club, he was twice crowned Russian champion, as well as winning two Russian Cups and a Russian Super Cup.
