Spartak sign Srdjan Babic from Almeria

Spartak Moscow officially agreed transfer of Almeria defender Srdjan Babic and signed with him three-year contract.

Born in Bosnia & Herzegovina, 27-year-old Babic played at pro level in Serbia, Portugal, and Spain. He represented Vojvodina and Crvena Zvezda in Serbia; made 92 appearances in Superliga, scored seven goals, won three league titles with Crvena Zvezda. In Portugal defender spent 2020/21 season on loan with Famalicao.

Babic made first trip to Spain in 2015 and signed with Real Sociedad, but played only for reserve team and was loaned to Reus Deportiu in Segunda for 2016/17 season. Next time he moved to Spain was 2021; Almeria loaned him from Crvena Zvezda and bought out next summer. In 2022/23 La Liga season Babic scored three goals in 34 matches.

Babic is U-20 World Cup champion with Serbia in 2015. Srdjan reached debut for main national team in 2022; overall, he has four matches for Serbia.
