FC Sochi announced Venezuelan forward Sergio Cordova joining the team from Alanyaspor on loan for second part of 2023/24 season.

Sochi can use buy-out option after the end of season.

Cordova made first steps at pro level with Caracas in 2015. In summer 2017 player left Venezuela for Germany, next four and half seasons he spent in Bundesliga with Augsburg and Arminia (loan in 2020/21 season). Next, the Venezuelan moved to MLS and played for Real Salt Lake and Vancouver Whitecaps. In September 2023 Cordova signed with Alanyaspor; in 18 Turkish Superleague matches he got three goals.

In 2017 forward played first games for Venezuela national team, now he has 18 matches at international level. With U-20 national team Cordova reached World Cup final in 2017 (lost to England) and won Goal of the Tournament award.
