CSKA Moscow officially reached agreement on deal with Serbian coach Marko Nikolic.
As noted in club’s statement, the contract will be officially signed later.
44-year-old coach will move back to RPL almost three years after leaving Lokomotiv. Nikolic had been working as the Railwaymen head coach since June 2020 to October 2021, he led the club to winning 2020/21 Russian Cup, also RPL silver and bronze medals. The Serbian has 25 wins, 14 draws and 9 defeats in 48 league matches.
As head coach Nikolic also worked with Rad, Vojvodina, Partizan, Olimpija Ljubljana, Fehervar and Shabab Al Ahli. Manager won Serbian SuperLiga and Cup with Partizan in 2016/17 season, added titles of Hungarian top division and Cup winner in Fehervar, captured UAE Super Cup with Shabab Al Ahli in 2023.
CSKA agreed with Nikolic day after releasing Vladimir Fedotov, who was team’s head coach for two seasons. Under Fedotov the Armymen became RPL silver medalists and Russian Cup winners in 2022/23 season, but the past season they finished sixth in the league.
