Jordan Larsson scored the last of three penalties to make sure Spartak Moscow at least finished the season on a high note. Ivan Ignatyev had earlier finally scored his first goal for Rubin Kazan shortly after Zelimkhan Bakaev had given Spartak the lead.
Not long before half time Georgi Dzhikia fed Bakaev down the left channel where he pulled the ball back to a waiting Jordan Larsson. His first-time shot was diverted over via ’s hand, and when the penalty was given Bakaev stopped up to cooly slot past Yury Dyupin.
Just two minutes later Rubin were back on level terms after Kvicha Kvaratskhelia was tripped in the box by Ayrton Lucas. Ignatyev finally opened his Rubin goalscoring account with a powerful spot kick.
With 20 minutes remaining Filip Uremovic upended Ezequiel Ponce in the box, From the spot, Larsson sent Dyupin the wrong way to put Domenico Tedesco’s side back in front.
Rubin Kazan finish the 2019/20 RPL season in 10th, while Spartak overtake them into 7th place.
