Both Kangwa brothers sent off as Ufa win five-goal thriller

print version

Arsenal Tula 2-3 FC Ufa
Friday 14 August, Arsenal Stadium

Goals: Arsenal - Lutsenko (26), K. Kangwa (72); Ufa - Krotov (45), Golubev (54), Bizjak (pen 63)

Man of the Match: Evgeny Lutsenko (Arsenal)

Sent off: Arsenal - Kings Kangwa (85), Evans Kangwa (90+4)

Evgeny Lutsenko opened his account for the season with a wonderfully glanced header into the far corner from Kings Kangwa’s curling cross. On the stroke of half time Vyacheslav Krotov turned a header of his own in to draw them level.

After the break Lovro Bizjak set up Artem Golubev for his first Ufa goal, before winning - and converting - a penalty after his initial shot had struck Robert Bauer on the hand. Kings Kangwa pulled one back for Arsenal less than 20 minutes from time with a dipping top-corner finish, only to see red for a late lunge on Nikolay Giorgobiani. He was joined by his brother Evans, who had only come off the bench halfway through the second half, to leave Arsenal winless after two matches.

Arsenal Tula are away to FC Krasnodar next on Tuesday 18 August, while FC Ufa host Spartak Moscow on Wednesday 19 August.
