Despite holding just 31% of first-half possession, Dynamo led 2-0 at the break.Three minutes from half time Maximilian Philipp converted a penalty that was awarded after Matthias Normann tripped Nikolay Komlichenko just inside the box. Komlichenko got in on the act himself in first-half added time by glancing a Sebastian Szymanski corner home. There was even time for Nikola Moro to make his debut off the bench in the second half. 

Dynamo remain unbeaten on seven points, while Rostov remain on three.

Dynamo Moscow face Arsenal Tula away next on Saturday 22 August, while FC Rostov are on the road to FC Ufa on Sunday 23 August.
