Kamran Aliev’s wonderful individual goal had given Khimki the lead after half an hour as he nutmegged his marker before finishing past Artur Migmatullin. Evans Kangwa equalised 15 minutes from time, and a minute later Khimki went down to 10 men as Danil Kazantsev was sent off for a second booking. Although Arsenal chased a late winner, they couldn’t find a way past.

Arsenal Tula move on to five points, while Khimki edge up onto two.

Arsenal Tula are away to Spartak Moscow next on Saturday 29 August, while FC Khimki host Rotor Volgograd on the same day.
