Sardar Azmoun’s hattrick shot Zenit back to the top of the table in style with a thumping 5-1 win. The Iranian scored twice before an Artem Dzyuba penalty on the half-hour mark, leaving Douglas Santos to cap a wonderful team move on the stroke of half time. Azmoun completed his hattrick 15 minutes from time to become outright top goalscorer in the RPL on nine, before Artem Shabolin headed in a consolation five minutes later.

Zenit go back top on 35 points, while Ural stay 11th on 19 points.
