Sochi overtook Akhmat with a confident home win that ended the five-match unbeaten run of opponents Akhmat. They nearly got off on the wrong foot, but Soslan Dzhanaev saved Bernard Berisha's penalty after quarter of an hour. Marko Dugandzic broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark before Artur Yusupov doubled the hosts' advantage on the stroke of half time. 

Sochi leapfrog Akhmat into seventh on 27 points, while Akhmat drop to eighth on 25 points.
