The RFU Executive Board Bureau has announced Nizhny Novgorod as the host of the 2020/21 Russian Cup Final.
The city will organize the decisive match of the tournament for the first time. Previously Nizhny Novgorod was the host of the 2018 Russian Super Cup, when CSKA beat Lokomotiv 1-0 in the extra time.
Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, which has a capacity of 45000 spectators, is the sixth World Cup arena in a row to be the national Cup final host after Ak Bars Arena in Kazan, Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi, Volgograd Arena, Samara Arena and Ekaterinburg Arena.
The Cup final will take place on 12 May, between RPL matchdays 29 and 30. There are three RPL participants, who reached semi-finals, including Akhmat Grozny, Lokomotiv Moscow and CSKA Moscow. Another contenders are the FNL leaders Krylia Sovetov.
The semi-finals pairs are Akhmat vs Krylia Sovetov and Lokomotiv vs CSKA.
