Russia kept up the heat on group leaders Spain with a spirited second-half performance away from home, spearheaded by Dynamo Moscow striker Konstantin Tyukavin.

In the space of 10 minutes after the break, Tyukaving struck twice, either side of a Karolis Uzela own goal. In truth, Mikhail Galaktionov’s youngsters could and should have won by more, but they achieved the most important task of a simple win.

Lithuania stay fifth on three points, while Russia remain second, level with leaders Spain on nine points.
