Zheleznov debut goal rescues point for Ural away to Krylia

print version

Krylia Sovetov Samara 1-1 Ural Ekaterinburg
Saturday 20 November, Solidarnost Samara Arena

Goals: Krylia - Mamin (OG) 59'; Ural - Zheleznov 90'
Man of the Match: Eric Bicfalvi (Ural)

Teenage winger Yuri Zheleznov was the late hero for Ural with his first goal for the club to lift them off the bottom, thus saving Artem Mamin's blushes.

Mamin had been the unfortunate man to turn a relatively harmless deep cross into his own net just before the hour.

Just as the clock ticked over into added time, Ural swept forward with one last attack. Substitute Aleksey Evseev made a run into the right channel, chested a chipped ball through and volleyed it hopefully over to the back post where a grateful Zheleznov slammed home a first time finish.

It was only the sixth goal Ural had scored all season, but it was a crucial one for the young winger and his teammates, as it lifted them off the bottom of the table.

Krylia stay sixth on 23 points, while Ural edge past Khimki into 15th on 12 points.

Next RPL fixtures: Saturday 27 November - Ural vs Sochi; Sunday 28 November - Nizhny Novgorod vs Krylia Sovetov
