Host nation Cameroon eased past tournament debutants Comoros 2-1 in their last-16 match at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
The minnows began the match with defender Shakir Al-Habtour in goal after all three full-time keepers were ruled out through Covid and injury, and after just seven minutes they were reduced to 10 men after captain Najim Abdou's red card. The goals for Cameroon were scored by Karl Toko Ekambi in the 29th minute and Vincent Abubakar in the 70th. Comoros hit back in the 81st minute thanks to a free kick by Yussuf M'changama.
Dynamo striker Clinton N'Jie came on in the second half in the 63rd minute. At this tournament, he has played in all four matches for Cameroon.
In the quarter-finals, Cameroon will face Gambia, who had edged past Guinea 1-0 earlier on Monday. The match will take place on 29 January.
The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations is taking place in Cameroon from 9 January to 6 February.
