Spartak Moscow 2-1 Krylia Sovetov Samara
Sunday 1 May, Otkritie Bank Arena
Goals: Spartak - Sobolev (pen 61, 83); Krylia - Gorshkov (pen 30)
Man of the Match: Aleksandr Sobolev (Spartak)
Aleksandr Sobolev scored all three Spartak goals against his former side Krylia Sovetov and helped the Red-Whites to get all six points in the both meetings. Youngsters from Samara threatened the Aleksandr Selikhov net more often, having five shots against three from Spartak and taking three corner kicks. One of them led to a handball from Samuel Gigot, and VAR helped Evgeny Turbin to award the visitors with a penalty. Despite Selikhov touched the ball with his leg, it crossed the goal line and became a second goal this season for Yury Gorshkov.
After putting Shamar Nicholson as the second striker, Spartak activity increased. Nicholson was fouled by Aleksandr Soldatenkov in the box earning a penalty for the hosts, and as in the first leg Aleksandr Sobolev beat Ivan Lomaev from the spot. In total Spartak had 11 shot attempts after the break, and they got the chance to score from the play. Firstly it seemed that Mateo Barac saved Sobolev’s shot, but after VAR recognized the ball completely crossed the line, the decision was changed to a goal, a second one for former Krylia striker and a winning one for Spartak.
Spartak go ninth on 34 points, while Krylia stay seventh on 38 points.
