Spartak came to Nizhny Novgorod without Aleksandr Sobolev, RPL Best Player of September was suspended after getting fourth yellow card, so Shamar Nicholson got his chance in the starting 11 alongside Quincy Promes. Pari NN previously let most of their opponents to score firstly, but this time they had the lead after 45 minutes, Mamadou Maiga slipped through Spartak defenders and sent the ball to the bottom corner.
The advantage could reach two goals, but Milson dribble ended with hitting the bar. The visitors from Moscow equalized in the perfect way, Promes back heel pass was caught by Nicholson, and the Jamaican stroke in the jump. Promes got his attempt to score, when VAR found handball from Momo Jansane after the corner kick. Last spring Promes took the penalty at Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, and he scored, but touched the ball twice, so the goal was called off. This time the Dutchman used Panenka style, and it gave him ninth goal this season, comeback as unanimous leader of the scorers’ race and the first ever win for Spartak against Pari NN.
Spartak go fourth and tie Rostov on 22 points, while Pari NN remain tenth with 12 points.
