Last week both teams ended their RPL matches with four conceded goals, for Sochi 1-4 defeat in Orenburg became the biggest in the history, while Lokomotiv extended their losing streak to four games, the worst series in Russian era. The first step was made by Southern side, Christian Noboa shone again with his powerful shot and tied Quincy Promes on nine goals in the RPL scorers’s race. Lokomotiv came close to equalizer after the break, and they hit the post twice in one attack, first attempt was missed by Dmitry Zhivoglyadov, then Pedro Gabriel could not score to the empty net.
This missing chance had big price for the guests, as Joaozinho, who came on the field after the half-time, punished them with two goals. First one came from his interception and passing play with Kirill Ushatov, in the second attack the midfielder shot well outside the box. Another substitute Vladislav Sarveli made finish in the added time scoring in RPL for the first time since August. Sochi trip became the final one for Josef Zinnbauer, after the defeat Lokomotiv announced the departure of head coach and sports director Tomas Zorn.
Sochi stay sixth with 20 points, while Lokomotiv are 14th on nine points.
