Teams were divided by ten positions before meeting at Rostov Arena, and 12th-placed Ural came with better shape than second-placed Rostov. Since the international break team from Ekaterinburg won all three official games, while Valery Karpin’s band suffered first defeats in the season but made a winning comeback against Krasnodar in the latest Southern derby.
Lazar Randjelovic is among the reasons, why Ural are so good in October, his parachute shot opened the score and gave the Serbian a goal in the third straight game. Meanwhile Aleksey Kashtanov was the assistant, so he got two goals and two assists in last four RPL matches. Rostov answered with another awarded penalty, tenth for the team this season, and Roman Tugarev successfully took it.
The key moment was Rai Vloet’s entrance. The Dutch substituted Aleksandr Yushin, and three minutes his shot to the bottom corner put Ural ahead again. That was the first goal for Vloet in Russia, and it became the winning one, despite Ural finished with ten men, as Mingiyan Beveev was sent off with two yellow cards.
Rostov stay second with 25 points, while Ural jump to eleventh on 11 points and three-game winning streak.
