Week ago, Zenit made revenge to Pari NN for the 0-1 loss in the final matchday of the last season, now the leaders remain unbeaten smashing Sochi, the only team they could not defeat in the previous championship. Ivan Sergeev started things scoring little ridiculous goal, as the ball hit his head and crossed the goal line. Then came Malcom, who took two attempts to beat Soslan Dzhanaev, and later the Brazilian was fouled by Artem Meshchaninov, and Sochi defender was shown a red card. Since 20th minute it was 11-on-10 game.
Zenit made the lead more comfortable with Sergeev’s brace and Wendel’s powerful long shot, after the break it continued with Wilmar Barrios wonderful strike, Malcom stealing Artur Yusupov’s back pass, and Gustavo Mantuan being first on the rebound after Claudinho shot. The champions stood one goal behind their record made by 8-0 defeat over Orenburg, and their 43 goals in 14 matches is the new championship’s record for this distance.
Zenit stay first with 36 points, while Sochi are eighth on 20 points.
