Worst team after the first part of RPL season made multiple changes in roster during the break, and in first official game of the year Andrey Talalaev put four new players in the starting 11, these were wingers Evgeny Shlyakov and Roman Yuzepchuk, center-back Yury Zhuravlev and attacking midfielder Ilya Kukharchuk. Nevertheless, it was not enough against 13th-placed team of the First League.

After ball touched Oleg Kozhemyakin’s arm in the penalty area, it took some minutes for VAR to check the moment, and then Akron were awarded with shot from the spot, and captain Konstantin Savichev scored it. Next, Abu-Said Eldraushev doubled the lead through shot to the top corner. The score stayed the same, even after the hosts were down to ten men, Danil Poluboyarinov, loaned from Torpedo by the way, got second booking with elbowing.

Torpedo are first RPL side to be eliminated from Regions Path play-offs. The day before Zenit qualified to the next quarter-finals stage beating Volga in Ulyanovsk 3-0.
